Learning Beyond the Classroom at Ömerli Horse Farm
As part of the PYP “Sharing the Planet” unit, our first-grade students participated in an educational field trip to Ömerli Horse Farm, where they had the opportunity to explore nature and observe living things in their natural environments.
Through this hands-on learning experience, students discovered the habitats of animals living in their local environment and gained a deeper understanding of how living things survive, grow, and interact with their surroundings. By observing animals firsthand, students strengthened their knowledge of habitats, nutrition, and life cycles in an authentic setting.
The trip encouraged students to develop observation, inquiry, and research skills while fostering curiosity about the natural world. Through meaningful interactions with nature, they learned about the importance of respecting living things and understanding the connections between organisms and their environments.
In line with the educational vision of Irmak Schools, which aims to nurture inquisitive, caring, and environmentally responsible learners, this experience supported students’ ecological awareness and encouraged them to become active observers of the world around them.
This memorable outdoor learning experience enriched students’ academic understanding while also contributing to their personal and social development through exploration, discovery, and meaningful engagement with nature.
