Üsküdar – Kuzguncuk Trip

Üsküdar – Kuzguncuk Trip

On Wednesday, April 5, the Turkish – Social Department organized an interdisciplinary trip to Üsküdar – Kuzguncuk, one of Istanbul’s oldest districts, so that our sixth-grade students could closely examine the natural and historical beauties of Istanbul and Ottoman.

Our students, who had a very educational and fun time on the trip, visited the Valide Mosque, III. Ahmet Fountain, Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, Byzantine Cistern, Nemlizade Tobacco Warehouse, Historical Grain Warehouse, Surp Kirkor Lusarovic Church, Yeni Mosque, and Beth Yaakov Synagogue, and gained important information about these structures.

Kuzguncuk’s colorful, wooden houses with bay windows and magical streets stayed with not only our students, but also the teachers who participated in the trip. Following the trip, our students wrote their experiences in their Turkish diaries.
