Ready, Set, Speak! Prepared and Impromptu Speech Contest

The 14th “Laf Ebesi / Prepared and Impromptu Speech Competition,” traditionally organized by the Social Studies Department of Irmak Okulları, was successfully held on Thursday, May 21.
Aimed at helping students express their thoughts and emotions in a coherent and structured manner while developing confidence in public speaking, the competition began with an opening speech by Zeynep Lea Dinçtürk.
Hosted by 6th grade student Mila Ererdağ, the competition consisted of two stages. In the first stage, students delivered three-minute prepared speeches on topics of their choice. In the second stage, the top five students with the highest scores delivered two-minute impromptu speeches based on topics selected by a speaking wheel.
The jury evaluated students based on content mastery, coherence, pronunciation, fluency, originality, and richness of vocabulary.
At the end of the competition, Melisa Belgin from Grade 6/D won first place, Can Göksel from Grade 7/C placed second, and Leyla Ertürk from Grade 5/C placed third.
In line with the educational vision of Irmak Okulları, which prioritizes communication skills, self-expression, and student confidence, we proudly congratulate all participants and wish them continued success.
