Panel on Children’s Rights
On Wednesday, November 20, a panel discussion on “Children’s Rights” was organized with the participation of our 7th grade students. The panel was held in Turkish, English, and modern languages, where students expressed the problems of children around the world and gave hopeful messages.
Elif Naz YILMAZ, ATİLLA EŞELİOĞLU, ATİLLA EŞELİOĞLU and Damla YÜCE gave speeches on “Children’s Right to Education”, “Children’s Right to Health” and “Children’s Right to Life” in Turkish, while Elif DAVUTOĞLU, Kerem YAYLA and Lara ARICAN gave speeches on “Child Labor”, “Right to Privacy” and “Right to Play” in English respectively. The panel was enriched with messages in Spanish by Arselan SEDİR and Aylin DEDEHAYIR, in French by Zeynep Aşk ANTER and Hasan FURTUN, in German by Leo Ege TENGİZ and Deniz Tan KARAPEKMEZ, and moderated by Ali ARKADAŞ and Alisa Defne KANAL.
Before the panel, various in-class activities emphasized the issue of children’s rights, and student products were exhibited on the school boards. The activities aimed to support “inquirer and caring” learner profiles.
