“With the idea of “A child who receives a good musical education and loves music; loves life and makes a difference with its aesthetic richness”, our main goal is to teach our students to incorporate music into their lives by developing their skills in accordance with their interests and talents, and to enable them to communicate with different cultures by using music as a universal language to express their feelings and thoughts.

The aims of music education at Irmak Schools can be listed as follows:

  • To make students understand that music is a universal language,
  • To raise individuals who are curious about music and the language of music,
  • To enable students to realize the role and importance of music in intercultural communication,
  • To raise productive individuals with information literacy skills,
  • To enable students to produce content using new technologies,
  • To educate and develop students in line with their interests and abilities,
  • To develop a critical appreciation,
  • To discover, reveal and process general and special musical talent through ear, voice and instrument training.

Our main goal as a department is to develop “individuals who use their knowledge and skills” in accordance with the vision of our school. In this context, as Irmak Schools Music Department, we make sure that our students from kindergarten to high school education are primarily good music listeners, and that our students gain musical appreciation and instrumental skills through the education they receive in music classes and the equipment they acquire in line with our school’s understanding of art.

INSTRUMENT BRANCH EDUCATION

Based on the principle of “Every student should play an instrument and every student who graduates from Irmak Schools can play at least one instrument“, which we believe in and support in music education at Irmak Schools, instrumental education is conducted with four instruments (violin, flute, guitar and cello). Our aim in branch education is to increase our students’ knowledge of instruments, to enable them to express their feelings and thoughts through music with the instrument they have learned, and to enable them to share their knowledge and skills individually or by participating in musical groups in different social areas. The orchestral activities contribute to the development of our students’ talents in the fields of music, aesthetics, culture, and art, and aim to improve their level of playing instruments collectively and individually. Our students share their repertoire of music from different genres with the audience on stage at ceremonies and events throughout the year.
