Language is the most important tool that enables a person to know the world and to communicate their experiences. Learning a foreign language enables individuals to solve problems, approach issues critically and develop their behavioral competence beyond the boundaries of their own language area and contributes to intercultural interaction. At Irmak Schools, our students choose one of Spanish, German or French languages in addition to English from the 1st grade onwards, and by the end of the 8th grade, they reach the “A 2.2” level determined by the “European Language Criteria” in line with the language they have chosen.
Our departmental goals are:
- To develop students’ interest in learning a new language,
- To provide students with an environment in which they can explore the cultures of other countries, increase their intercultural awareness, and exchange ideas with those around them.
- To foster the acquisition of critical thinking skills by providing students with appropriate content and methods for personal discovery and exploration,
- To develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through a text-based approach,
- Provide a variety of learning opportunities for students with individual differences through a variety of methods.
Essential support is provided for the preparation and participation of our students in internationally recognized language exams (FIT, DELF, DELE).
