Key Points for Parents: Adolescence
As part of our ongoing guidance program, an online seminar titled “Key Points for Parents: Adolescence” was held by the Guidance and Counseling Department on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., for the parents of our 6th and 7th grade students.
The seminar addressed the physical, emotional, and social changes that occur during adolescence, how these changes are reflected in children’s behavior, and how parental attitudes and approaches influence their development. Topics such as setting healthy boundaries, strengthening communication, and responding appropriately to emotional needs were also discussed.
Adolescence is a sensitive developmental stage characterized by identity exploration, the desire for independence, and emotional fluctuations. Therefore, it is essential for parents to understand their children during this period, listen to them without judgment, and maintain a strong sense of trust in their relationship.
We hope that this session has helped our parents gain deeper insight into their children’s experiences during adolescence, better understand the reasons behind their behaviors, and strengthen healthy and supportive communication within their families.
