The Middle School English Program is designed to maximize students’ communication skills through a curriculum that equips them with listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
The aim is for students to become independent, self-confident individuals who have an appreciation and understanding of other cultures as well as their own, have national and international awareness, develop a deeper understanding of human nature and strengthen their critical thinking skills. Our school uses the communicative approach as the latest and most effective method based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (C.E.F.R.).
Our departmental goals are:
- Enabling the students to express themselves fluently and accurately by concentrating on their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills
- To create a free and safe learning environment for all the students to feel comfortably safe.
- To enable the students to be more aware and respectful of and towards themselves, others as well as other cultures.
- To encourage the students to be continuously inquiring and questioning individuals,
- To keep student interest high through the use of technological tools and gadgets in classes,
- To help students grow up to become skilled individuals in critical and creative thinking
- To support the students’ personal and cultural development through the use of various written and visual resources,
- To ingrain the students in reading and help them turn this habit into a lifelong activity by internalizing.
- To create environments where the students can exhibit their creativity.
- Enable the students to read and analyse various written texts.
- To encourage and guide the students to take Cambridge exams and help them prepare for these tests.
