Transition to Middle School Information Session for 4th Graders

Transition to Middle School Information Session for 4th Graders

On Friday, April 10, the Middle School Guidance and Counseling Department of Irmak Okulları organized a comprehensive orientation presentation to support our Grade 4 students in experiencing the transition to middle school in a more informed, confident, and healthy way.

In line with the educational philosophy of Irmak Okulları, which values the holistic academic, social, and emotional development of students, the session focused on the structure and functioning of middle school, the academic journey leading to high school, behavioral expectations, and students’ developmental characteristics.

Throughout the presentation, students had the opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the changes they may encounter while transitioning to a new educational level. The session also aimed to answer students’ questions and help them develop a more confident perspective about middle school life.

One of the most engaging parts of the event was the question-and-answer session. During this section, our students listened to the experiences of current Grade 5 students and learned about middle school life through peer perspectives. This sincere and supportive peer-sharing environment helped reduce students’ concerns about the transition process while increasing their curiosity and excitement for the next stage of their education.

At the end of the presentation, students were also informed about the middle school orientation program that will take place in June. The program, designed to give students a short-term experience of middle school life, was met with great enthusiasm and interest.

Through this guidance initiative, we aim to help our students feel more prepared, secure, and motivated as they step into a new learning environment and begin their middle school journey with confidence.
