Balparmak Campus Tour
This week, our 3rd-grade students visited the Balparmak Campus as part of our 5th PYP unit to understand the relationship between production, distribution, and consumption. They watched a presentation containing detailed information about production of honey, including; the life cycle of bees, hive structures, and the honey production process. During the presentation, students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn interactively.
Afterwards, they observed how the honey brought to Balparmak is examined in a laboratory environment by a chemist.
Through the field trip, students learned about the role of bees in the ecosystem, the impact of honey on human health, and the natural life cycle of bees. Additionally, they were made aware of sustainable honey production and beekeeping practices.
The Balparmak Campus trip enabled our students to gain a deep understanding of bees and honey production. This experience was a significant educational activity that supported in-class learning and heightened our students’ curiosity about the natural world.
