2nd Grade Saint Joseph Natural Science Museum Trip

Our second-grade students organized a trip to the Saint Joseph Museum of Natural Sciences as part of the PYP transdisciplinary theme, “Sharing the Planet.” During the trip, they explored the natural habitats of animals that once inhabited or continue to inhabit Anatolia and its surrounding areas. Additionally, they studied the anatomy of these animals through their fossils. The students had the opportunity to observe well-preserved specimens of various wild animals, including deer, wolves, bears, birds of prey, and foxes. The museum also showcased a diverse collection of insects, butterflies, and eggs gathered from Anatolia, along with Herbarium specimens (dry plants). Beyond gaining knowledge about nature, the students observed how creatures in different ecosystems were influenced by events on our planet. This experience provided valuable insights into the interconnectedness of various species and the impact of environmental changes on ecosystems.
