Sharing the Planet: Composting for a Sustainable Future

As part of our PYP “Sharing the Planet” unit, our Pre-K students participated in a hands-on compost workshop.
They explored how food waste, such as fruit and vegetable scraps, can be transformed into nutrient-rich soil, supporting the idea that waste can become a valuable resource for the planet.

By using the compost machine, students observed the process of organic waste breaking down and learned how composting helps reduce waste, protect the environment, and support sustainability.
This experience encouraged students to take responsibility for the environment and develop an early understanding of care for the Earth.
