Interview with Süleyman Bulut on Atatürk’s Book with Stamps
We organized a wonderful talk with our 3rd grade students about the book “Pullarla Atatürk” written by Süleyman Bulut. This event provided our students with a unique opportunity to tell the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the determination and courage he showed while establishing the Republic from a different perspective. During our talk, our students had the chance to meet Süleyman Bulut, the author of the book “Pullarla Atatürk”. Süleyman Bulut shared stories that the children listened to with curiosity by explaining how the book came about and what inspired him while writing it. We learned that the stamps in the book are symbols that tell of important moments and achievements in Atatürk’s life, and that each one represents a small section of our history. Our children were very interested and curious while listening to topics such as the establishment of the Republic, the War of Independence and the value Atatürk gave to children through stamps. Throughout the talk, our students had the chance to ask questions they were curious about Atatürk. They discovered a lot of new information about Atatürk’s life with questions such as “What did Atatürk like the most?” and “What sports was he interested in?” Süleyman Bulut’s answers to the children’s questions further reinforced their interest in our history and Atatürk. This event was a very meaningful meeting in order to raise our children’s historical awareness and to help them better understand Atatürk and the values of the Republic. Thanks to this conversation that was both educational and enjoyable, our children had the opportunity to go on a journey within history, beyond just reading about it. We were very happy to meet our children in Atatürk’s world and witness our history!
