Apple Trip

Apple Trip

As part of our second inquiry unit, our third grade students, who learned about the importance of design in our daily lives and Dieter Rams’ minimalist design principles, organized a trip to Apple to design their own emojis. Our students, who designed their emojis by applying Dieter Rams’ minimalist design principles, discussed how colors can add remarkable features to their designs. Our students who designed their emojis had the opportunity to make a short presentation about the emojis they designed. By combining their experiences on the trip with the concept of design, our students developed their creativity, ability to look from different perspectives and produce innovative solutions. They have become more conscious individuals about technological developments. Most importantly, they learned that sustainability and environmental impacts are one of the most important elements of design.
