Digging into the Past! / Exploring the World of Archaeology!

FLL Club students turned into real junior archaeologists! Without stepping into a dusty excavation site, they began exploring the past. This year’s theme, Archaeology, encouraged them to uncover the mysteries of history and ask themselves, “What would I discover if I were an archaeologist?” They learned how archaeologists work, the tools they use, and the challenges they face all while embarking on a fun and inspiring journey filled with curiosity and science.

We welcomed special guests from the Istanbul Archaeologists Association during our club session. Association President Evren Yıldız and Istanbul University Prehistoric Archaeology graduate Gül Su Eğin delivered an engaging and insightful presentation about the science of archaeology, excavation processes, and the real challenges archaeologists encounter in their work.

Through this inspiring experience, students realized that understanding the past is not just about reading books — it’s about exploring, questioning, and creating. They strengthened their scientific thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while laying the foundations for their own innovation projects within the FLL journey.
