2nd Graders Migros Trip
Our 2nd-grade students organized a trip to Migros as part of the PYP theme How We Organize Ourselves. Before the trip, they prepared shopping lists with their families, identifying two wants and two needs.
During their visit to the market, they explored all the aisles, selected the items on their lists, and made their purchases. While shopping, they carefully checked the expiration dates of packaged products and paid attention to the freshness and appropriate quantity of loose foods, reinforcing the importance of being conscious consumers.
At the checkout, they scanned their items, made payments, received change, and collected their receipts, gaining hands-on experience in real-life shopping. Back at school, they examined their receipts and discussed the question: How can we be conscious consumers? They applied their knowledge of money management to daily life and used their decision-making skills to balance their budgets, making thoughtful choices between needs and wants.
Through this trip, our students gained valuable experience in both budget management and conscious shopping!
