Hi to Spring with Equinox!
March 21st is a day when day and night are about the same length and a time when the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the geometric center of the Sun’s disk. Furthermore, it heralds the spring.
We, as Irmak Middle and High School Social Sciences Department, enthusiastically celebrated the nature’s awakening, the coming of spring and equinox in the name of “EQUINOX DAY”. On that special day, in our garden our students who are dressed in black and white performed a choreography symbolizing equinox. Afterwards, our high school students pointed out the importance and the meaning of this day by presenting a presentation namely “Happy Birthday Nature” to their sisters and brothers in the 5th and 6th, 7th grades. After the presentations, while 5th graders were planting seasonal flower seeds in our school garden, 6th graders reflected the colors of spring on their colorful masks.
The day was completed by students hanging their wish cards on the wish-fulfilling tree.
We wish spring will bring everyone beauty and happiness.
