We have successfully held the IRMAK Debate Tournament Final
The traditional Irmak Debate Tournament concluded with the grand final held at the Irmak Auditorium on Tuesday, March 11. After demonstrating outstanding performances in the preliminary rounds, the top speakers, forming mixed teams, competed in the final match under the motion: “The increasing prevalence of cyber vigilantism causes more harm than good.”
In the final match, conducted in the parliamentary debate format, the Government Opening team consisted of Beril ŞARKAYA and Demir ÇOLAK, while the Government Closing team featured Deniz SİCİMOĞLU and Ekinsu KILIÇ. On the Opposition side, Rüya GÜRBÜZ and Kuzey YOLERİ formed the Opening team, whereas Aysun ERDEM and Maya Nil ERTEN competed as the Closing team.
The final, marked by our students’ compelling arguments and strong oratory skills, was adjudicated by our Turkish Language and Literature teachers—Selin TENGİZ, Seda ÖZER, Burcu Arıcan TUFAN, Yasemin AYDIN ŞEN, and Levent TOPRAK—as well as members of the Irmak Debate Team: Melek Nil Su GÜL, Efe Dora KÜLAHLI, Ayla ERDOĞAN, Derin AKAR, and Alinda ÇELİK.
Following intense debates, the Opposition Opening team emerged victorious, while Ekinsu KILIÇ was awarded the title of Best Speaker of the final match.
