Say hi to Equinox! Say hi to Spring!

Say hi to Equinox! Say hi to Spring!

March 21st is a day when day and night are about the same length and a time when the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the geometric center of the Sun’s disk. Furthermore, it heralds the spring.

As Irmak  Middle School Turkish – Social Studies and High School Social Sciences Departments, we celebrated the awakening of nature, the arrival of spring and the equality of day and night with a series of activities within the scope of “Equinox Day”. On this special day, our students came to school wearing black and white clothes to represent day and night.

As part of the activities, our high school students made a presentation entitled as “Happy Birthday Nature!” to the students of 5th grade and drew attention to the meaning and importance of the day. After the presentations, our 5th grade students planted the seasonal flower seedlings they brought to the school garden, while our 6th grade students reflected the colors of spring on colorful masks they painted.

Students finalized the day by hanging their wish cards on the wish-fulling tree.

We wish beauty and happiness in this spring to everyone.
