Burgazada and Sait Faik Museum Visit with Grade 9 Students

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, we took a trip to the Sait Faik Museum with our Grade 9 students as part of the Turkish Language and Literature Course. The mansion, which was turned into a museum after the death of Sait Faik, one of the unforgettable writers of Turkish literature with his unique style, exhibits many items such as Sait Faik’s personal belongings, books, educational documents, and his letters to friends and family. Our students had the chance to get to know the master storyteller Sait Faik more closely by visiting the mansion, where he lived and wrote many of his stories, in Burgazada, to comprehend his relations with the place and society where he lived, and to take examples from his philosophy of life, love of human and nature in accordance with our unit on stories. Our students also participated in the Burgazada Trip Photo Contest organized by our Turkish Language and Literature teacher Seda Özer with the photos they took during the trip, and eternalized their trip experience with magnificent shots.
