We Welcomed Spring with Equinox Events

March 21 is a special day when day and night are equal all over the world, the Sun’s rays reach the Equator at a right angle, and the circle of illumination passes through the poles. This date symbolizes a unique moment that heralds the awakening of nature and the arrival of spring.

As Irmak Schools, we celebrated this meaningful day with great enthusiasm and excitement through a variety of activities organized by the High School Literature and Social Sciences Department and the Middle School Turkish-Social Studies Department. On this special occasion, our students and teachers came to school wearing colorful outfits to reflect the spirit of spring.

Our middle school and high school students enjoyed engaging in activities such as tree planting, mask painting, writing wish cards and poems, as well as traditional games like sack races, handkerchief grabbing, tug of war, and egg carrying.

This meaningful day enabled our students to approach natural phenomena from a scientific perspective while also exploring our cultural heritage. As we deepened our understanding of nature’s balance and cycles of renewal, this special event strengthened our sense of unity and awareness, turning it into an unforgettable experience for all of us.

Wishing that spring brings beauty and happiness to us all…
