The Richness of Our Language: I Have Words!
Vocabulary is developed by reading books, learning new words or learning other meanings and uses of known words. The richness of vocabulary is very important for the development of an individual’s expressive skills. As Irmak Schools, we do many activities in Turkish and literature classes in order to improve students’ language skills and to include the words they learn in their memory. In this direction, in order to celebrate “World Dictionary Day”, a “I Have Words!” contest was organized on Wednesday, January 15th in cooperation with the middle school Turkish and high school Turkish Language and Literature Departments within the scope of the “Riches of Our Language” project. Two teams consisting of middle school and high school students competed in the competition, which started with the opening speech of Ece Lara TÜMENBATUR and Beril ŞARKAYA from high school students and Sinan ŞENTÜRK from middle school students. We congratulate all our students who participated in the competition won by Team A consisting of Kerem BAYÜLKEN, Selen DÖNMEZ, Masal ENGİNAR, Damla YÜCE.
