This unforgettable opera met with art lovers at the Atat\u00fcrk Cultural Center T\u00fcrk Telekom Opera Hall.<br \/>\nBased on the novel of the same name by French writer Prosper M\u00e9rim\u00e9e, the libretto was written by Ludovic Hal\u00e9vy and Henri Meilhac. Although it caused great controversy when it was first staged in Paris in 1875, in time it became a universal success and today it is one of the most frequently staged operas in the world.
