The opening speech of sixth-grader Ay\u015fe Nil \u00dcNL\u00dc kicked off our competition, which seeks to develop the abilities of expressing one&#8217;s emotions and thoughts with integrity and consistency and speaking in front of the community.<\/p>\n<p>Our students gave a three-minute prepared speech on a topic of their choosing in the first of the competition&#8217;s two parts, which was hosted by eighth-grader Irmak BACACI. In the second part, the top five performers gave impromptu speeches for three minutes on topics chosen by the speech wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Anka S\u00dcNB\u00dcL from 5A, Elif DAVUTO\u011eLU from 5B, Selin SONBAY from 5C, Mina K\u00dc\u00c7\u00dcKDA\u011eILKAN from 5D, \u015eira Beyza TOKER from 6A, Kanat \u00d6ZBAYRA\u00c7 from 6B, \u0130mge \u00c7ET\u0130NKAYA from 6C, Mehmet Can AKSAKAL from 7A, Lara GEN\u00c7 from 7B, \u0130nci B\u0130LGEN from 7C, Derin ERBA\u015eOL from 8A, Beg\u00fcm Eda \u015e\u0130M\u015eEK from 8B, Zeynep G\u00fclfem from 8C participated on behalf of their classes.<\/p>\n<p>The competitors&#8217; speeches were assessed by the jury based on their &#8220;mastery of the subject, consistency, pronunciation, fluency, originality, and richness of vocabulary.&#8221; Following the jury&#8217;s assessment, Beg\u00fcm Eda \u015e\u0130M\u015eEK took first place, followed by Anka S\u00dcNB\u00dcL and Lara GEN\u00c7.
