[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Students of Irmak Schools continue to contribute to the future through achievements in scientific research, sustainability, and environmental awareness. Zeynep G\u00fclfem Ba\u015f, an 11th-grade student, has earned a place in the finals of the TEKNOFEST 2204-D High School Students Climate Change Research Projects Competition with her innovative environmental research project.<\/p>\n

Conducted under the supervision of Biology teacher Nergiz Demirer, the project was developed within the \u201cBiodiversity and Ecosystems\u201d theme. Titled \u201cThe Allelopathic Effect of Different Concentrations of Walnut (Juglans regia) Leaf Extract on the Germination of the Invasive Species Dichondra repens,\u201d the research project successfully advanced to the final stage following the preliminary evaluation process.<\/p>\n

The study investigates environmentally friendly alternatives to chemical methods commonly used to control invasive plant species. By examining the natural allelopathic properties of walnut leaves, the project explores sustainable ecological approaches that can contribute to biodiversity conservation and ecosystem protection.<\/p>\n

In line with the educational vision of Irmak Schools, which encourages students to become inquisitive, scientifically minded, and socially responsible individuals, this project demonstrates how young researchers can develop innovative solutions to global environmental challenges through scientific inquiry and evidence-based thinking.<\/p>\n

We proudly congratulate Zeynep G\u00fclfem Ba\u015f and her mentor, Nergiz Demirer, on this remarkable achievement and wish them continued success in the final stage of the competition.<\/p>\n
